CFS Employs Advanced Styrofoam Recycling to Solve Foam Waste in Cold Chain and Agri-Wholesale

Coastal Food Service, a regional refrigerated and wholesale produce distribution business based in Louisiana, USA, produces Styrofoam waste in bulk unboxing imported food packaging in its daily operations. Due to the high frequency of shipping packaging, the customer imports up to 300 boxes of products per month, accompanied by a large amount of molded Styrofoam separator foam. Under the pressure of environmental protection policies, brand image and recycling costs, CFS began to actively look for efficient ways to recycle Styrofoam waste. Manual collection and compression is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and often results in fines for stuffing containers; Local municipalities impose strict limits on Styrofoam landfills and offer incentives for recycling. Local regulations encourage the recycling of Styrofoam and prohibit sending it to landfill.

The customer's expected effects of recycling mainly include: saving warehouse space, loose foam stacking and occupying space, affecting storage and safe passages; Reduce waste disposal costs and improve 5S management: Keep the warehouse clean and tidy, and improve the sense of security of employees.

In March 2023, the purchasing manager of Coastal Food Service learned through a Google search that INTCO Recycle's recycling equipment could help solve their problem, and the Styrofoam recycling method is a more efficient and environmentally friendly recycling method.

After continuous solution optimization between the two parties, CFS decided to purchase a Styrofoam densifier M-C200, which has an annual processing capacity of 30 tons.
