GREENMAX Provides A Complete Plastic Recycling Solutions for KIMURA in Japan
KIMURA is a company specialized in plastic recycling, with a history of 60 years. It has recycling plants in Hokkaido, Chiba, Hyogo, Kyushu, Yamaguchi, and other regions, mainly recycling materials such as PET bottle bales, waste paper, films, and foams.
Before 2020, Japan's waste plastics only required simple preprocessing, such as compression and packaging, before being boxed and shipped to China or Southeast Asian countries for further washing and pelletizing. However, with the restrictions of Japan's Basel Convention, only clean and single-type materials are allowed for export. As a result, more and more local recyclers began performing deep processing on waste materials, which includes washing, crushing, and pelletizing. KIMURA is also one of them.
Since around 2000, KIMURA has started cooperating with GREENMAX's parent company INTCO Recycling to supply EPS block materials, expecting to supply 100 to 150 tons to INTCO Recycling each month, establishing a long-term stable and friendly cooperative relationship. Starting in 2020, the films recycled by KIMURA began to be made into pellets, with some sold domestically in Japan and some sold to INTCO Recycling, where they are made into various exquisite products exported to different countries.
As the business expands, KIMURA is continuously increasing its recycling plants in Japan. At the beginning of 2024, KIMURA expressed a desire to add a plastic film pelletizing system at their new plant in Kyushu. GREENMAX, a subsidiary of INTCO Recycling that specializes in recycling equipment, quickly connected with KIMURA's president upon hearing about this need from our supplier, and provided a solution for the plastic film pelletizing system, designing and manufacturing recycling equipment tailored for this customer.
After discussing and evaluating for two months, KIMURA found that the GREENMAX plastic film pelletizing system has a high cost-performance ratio, and since INTCO Recycling is the end user of the pellets, they trust GREENMAX professionalism even more. Thus, both parties reached a cooperation agreement. Currently, the GREENMAX agglomerator and pelletizer have arrived at KIMURA's factory and are being installed and debugged.
After the smooth production of PE film, the quantity of PET film recycled by another KIMURA Corporation factory began to increase. Previously, it was simply packed and sold. After GREENMAX learned about this situation, they suggested that KIMURA Corporation could also consider using a PET film agglomerator. Waste processed by the PET film agglomerator can greatly reduce the occupied space and facilitate downstream granulation or direct use, offering higher value than traditional packing methods.
After internal discussions, KIMURA Corporation expressed trust in GREENMAX's expertise and purchased another PET film agglomerator from GREENMAX, the machinery brand under INTCO Recycling, in 2025. Currently, KIMURA Corporation's Moji factory uses the PET film agglomerator for PE film granulation, and in the future, the Hyogo factory will use it for PET film granulation.
President of KIMURA stated: 'We have been cooperating with INTCO GREENMAX on raw material projects for more than twenty years. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they also have considerable experience with recycling equipment. Since 2024, we have purchased pelletizing equipment, and due to its high cost-performance ratio, we have purchased another granulator. We recognize their business model and look forward to becoming long-term, stable partners with INTCO.' It is believed that the PET film agglomerator equipment will definitely help KIMURA Corporation recycle more film waste and contribute to Japan's recycling efforts.
