GREENMAX Foam Densifier Solves Foam Accumulation Problem

Goodwill’s Green Works has received a $50,000 grant provided by the Foodservice Packaging Institute Foam Recycling Consortium (FRC), which will be used to recycle polystyrene plates, cups, egg cartons, and packaging foam.

Green Works, a nonprofit industrial recycler, plans to use this fund to purchase and install a foam densifier, which will be used to compact foam waste into foam ingots. This foam recycling program assists approximately 1 million residents in Detroit and neighboring communities in Wayne, Washtenaw and Oakland counties with recycling polystyrene foam. In addition, Green Works is able to sell compacted foam ingots to end markets for use in the manufacture of insulating panels for foundations, walls and roofs, and picture frames.

This foam recycling project will reduce foam materials in landfills, reducing pollution and the impact of climate change. Meanwhile, it can convert foam waste into foam ingots and sell them to end markets, bringing a steady stream of profits to Green Works. GREENMAX foam densifier, affiliated with INTCO Recycling, can compress loose foam into 1/90 of its original volume. This foam recycling equipment works by heating the waste foam at a high temperature and then melting it into a denser and more manageable form. GREENMAX foam densifier is equipped with a hot melting technology. Through 3-level temperature control, the crushed foam fragments will be hot-melted into tight foam ingots. Finally, the foam ingots will be extruded into the discharge box through the conveyor of the screw. When the temperature cools, it can be shaped to facilitate subsequent transportation and storage.

Foam is large in size and light in weight, so it will occupy a considerable amount of storage space and cause a lot of waste. At the same time, it will also have a negative impact on the on-site environment of the enterprise or factory. In the past, people usually chose to dispose of accumulated foam waste in landfills, but these foams are not suitable for transportation by trucks, and landfill and transportation costs are quite high. Therefore, people often need to spend a lot of money to handle accumulated polystyrene, which is neither environmentally friendly nor economical. But with GREENMAX foam densifier, large pieces of foam are compacted into foam ingots, which saves storage space and facilitates transportation. Each enterprise can use the machine according to its actual situation. Some enterprises we cooperate with will choose to use the machine once a week, which can solve the polystyrene accumulated this week. Additionally, GREENMAX foam densifier has 4 different production capacities, ranging from small capacity to large capacity, providing the most suitable choice for different customers.

The quality of GREENMAX foam densifier is trustworthy. We will provide customers with various support services to better serve them.
