GreenMax Plastic Dewatering Machine Successfully Implements Cosmetic Bottle Recycling
In the cosmetics industry, products like shampoo, body wash, and conditioner are typically packaged in plastic bottles made from materials such as PE and PP. No matter the brand, the production process inevitably generates defective items, filling errors, or expired products caused by inventory management issues.
These cosmetic products — which cannot be sold and cannot be casually discarded — take up warehouse space and pose environmental risks. As a result, companies urgently need a safe, reliable, and sustainable shampoo bottle recycling solution.
Cosmetics manufacturers typically face several challenges when dealing with these “discarded cosmetics”:
• The bottles are made of high-quality, recyclable materials (commonly PE and PP).
• The bottles still contain a large amount of liquid, making direct recycling impossible.
• The volume is high and comes in multiple batches, which makes manual processing costly and inefficient.
Relying on traditional manual bottle-and-liquid separation for shampoo and other cosmetics is not only expensive but also extremely inefficient. That’s why automated cosmetic dewatering and plastic reuse have become essential for effective shampoo bottle recycling.
GreenMax offers the professional plastic dewatering machine Poseidon series, providing an integrated solution that includes: bottle–liquid separation + plastic dewatering + bottle compaction + material recycling.

This plastic bottle compactor, designed specifically for shampoo bottle recycling, offers the following functions:
1. Automated cosmetic dewatering
A customized screw system compresses and breaks PE/PP bottles filled with liquid. The discharged liquid flows through the dewatering chamber into a collection tray below.
The tray includes three drainage outlets that can be connected to piping, allowing the separated cosmetic liquids to be directed to a designated storage area for proper treatment.
2. High-efficiency dewatering & compaction: lower volume, enable reuse
After draining, the bottles enter the compaction chamber of the plastic dewatering machine, where continuous screw pressure reduces the bottle volume by about 10:1, making transport easier and lowering logistics costs.
The bottles are then pushed into an upward-angled discharge chute, which helps remove additional residual liquid and prevents liquid from being carried out by the screw—significantly improving overall cosmetic dewatering efficiency.
The dewatered bottles are clean, stable in quality, and suitable to be fed back into the company’s packaging production line or sold directly to downstream pelletizing plants, maximizing material recovery and reducing production losses.

Proven Case: GreenMax Plastic Dewatering Machine Poseidon Successfully Implemented at L’Oréal Egypt
At the L’Oréal Egypt facility, GreenMax’s complete cosmetic dewatering and shampoo bottle recycling solution has been fully deployed and is operating successfully.
The plastic bottle compactor has delivered significant results for the plant:
• Efficient separation of liquid and bottles from expired or defective shampoo and other cosmetic products
• Dewatered plastic bottles are returned to the internal packaging production line
• Closed-loop recycling of plastic materials and discarded products, reducing the use of virgin packaging materials
• Regular processing of waste reduces warehouse buildup and improves storage efficiency
• Full compliance with environmental requirements, setting a green benchmark in cosmetic bottle recycling
Customer feedback shows clear improvements in both recycling efficiency and cost control with this system.

GreenMax will continue to provide global cosmetic brands with:
